PPMGL Consulting and AIVP develop the green and resilient development strategy for ports and inland waterway navigation in the Republic of Congo 🇨🇬

PPMGL Consulting, in partnership with the International Association Cities and Ports (AIVP), has been selected to support the Republic of Congo in developing a sectoral strategy for a green and resilient development of ports and inland waterway navigation. This mission is part of the Regional Project for the Improvement of Road and River Transport Corridors in Central Africa (PRACAC), financed by the World Bank.


🚢 A strategic project for Congo’s river economy


The port and river sector is a key driver of competitiveness and connectivity in Central Africa. Through this mission, the objective is to promote sustainable, inclusive, and environmentally responsible growth, while strengthening the climate resilience of infrastructures.


🤝 International expertise sought


To ensure the success of this project, PPMGL Consulting and AIVP are seeking experienced experts with strong track records in the following fields:


  • 🧭 Team leader / Transport economist: 10–15 years of experience, multidisciplinary team management, expertise in transport strategy and inland waterway economics.

  • 🏗️ Civil engineer – port and inland waterway infrastructures: senior engineer (≥10 years), design and dimensioning of works, climate resilience studies.

  • 📈 Strategic development expert: economics/management profile, ≥5 years of experience, sectoral competitiveness, strategic planning, and private capital mobilization.

  • ⚖️ Specialized lawyer (maritime, environmental, transport law): ≥5 years of experience, regulatory frameworks, port and environmental law expertise.


🌱 A vision for green and inclusive development


The mission aims to strengthen environmental sustainability, climate resilience, and social inclusiveness of the sector. The ambition is to foster the emergence of a Congolese inland waterway economy that is both competitive and environmentally responsible, aligned with national priorities and international standards of development partners.
