🇧🇮 Incubators in Burundi: BBA shortlisted to support future national mechanism funded by the AfDB

The Belgian Bankers Academy would strengthen support for entrepreneurs and incubators in Burundi, alongside local actors and rural communities, to promote inclusive and sustainable economic development.

BBA - Belgian Bankers Academy (A PPMGL Consulting Company), in consortium with Ovation.eco and Burundi Business Inc (BBIN), has been shortlisted to support the implementation of the future national incubation mechanism as part of the PEAPPJF Burundi.


This structuring program, financed by the African Development Bank (AfDB), aims to establish a national incubation mechanism in Burundi and support entrepreneurship in agro-pastoral value chains, benefiting women, young people, and rural MSMEs.


🌿 A national framework to professionalize and structure the future national incubation mechanism in order to improve the quality of services offered to entrepreneurs


The PEAPPJF supports the transformation of Burundi's economic fabric through one priority area: professionalizing and strengthening incubators in Burundi in order to improve the quality of services offered to entrepreneurs.


The intervention focuses on several key areas:


  • Institutional and organizational diagnosis of the structures selected to host the incubation mechanism

  • Design and structuring of incubation services and support pathways

  • Development of technical modules (management, agribusiness, digital, leadership, etc.)

  • Direct support for entrepreneurship in agro-pastoral value chains


This initiative aims to provide the structures involved with sustainable tools so that they can become real drivers for the creation of viable businesses and local development.


🎯 Expertise mobilized by BBA and its partners


With over 25 years of experience in Africa, BBA would make a key contribution in the following areas:


finance, governance, incubation, entrepreneurial coaching, digitalization, gender, ESG, and organizational strengthening.


The consortium would bring together:


  • international technical expertise (BBA),

  • mastery of entrepreneurial innovation dynamics (Ovation.eco),

  • strong regional roots among rural entrepreneurs (BBIN).


This combination ensures an approach that is strategic, operational, and deeply aligned with the needs of local stakeholders.
